Anyone watching the video I would suggest to avoid that first tip as a condemnation build is very popular on sadako and carrying a tape only puts you at a disadvantage

Sadako main here. In response to the first tip, I recommend leaving it on as Sadako will often pay attention to what TV's are turned off so as to map out what gens are being done. Leave it and prevent yourself from unnecessary condemned stacks until she already knows you're working on it.

Sadako main here, I 100% reccomend you to grab the VHS tape.

Onion main here. I would not recommend grabbing the tape unless she has the iridescent tape addon. Removing a tape shuts the TV off for 60 seconds, while teleporting the cool down is 100. Taking a tape can give you over 3 levels of condem if you do the gen, so it's better to just let her teleport and you can take aggro for your team. That way you only get 1 stack of condem, and another survivor can safely work on a gen for 100 seconds and complete it. However the iridescent tape can't turn the TV back on if the tape was removed, so remove the tapes to weaken the strength of the addon.

2 things don't grab the tape sense if you don't get rid of it in s certain period of time it will make you Mori able untill you get rid of it second just remember Onyro can't attack if there manifested

Once ran into an Onryo staring at their own TV demanifested at the beginning of a match of midwich. They didn’t react to my footsteps at all. A gen passed and they were still staring at the TV, eventually the Kate goes up and gets in the Onryo’s vision, only for the Onryo to teleport away. After that, the Onryo made it their mission to scare the shit out us. Sneaking up to us on gens like michy or popping out of the shadows in a hallway. Though he often gave us the chance to run away so he could scare us again. Match felt like a movie

I saw that you commented that this was when she first came out so the only thing I want to say about the tape is that it's better to do it when the gen is about to pop and she's played aggressively. Some Sadako killers have chosen to remain in chase or focus on another survivor, others have had the gens on lock.

A good tip overall is to try to get a read on a killer's playstyle, it'll help in the long run on whether one can play aggressively, take risks, or play it safe.

If you’re not careful while holding tapes, it can build condemn fast, especially against good Onryo’s that are aggressive with their power. Taking a tape out will start the timer for the TV to turn back on whether or not you hold onto the tape or put it in another TV. Good onryo’s can make you regret holding onto that tape

Onion main, i love sneaking up on people who dont listen to the sound cues 🙏 but I also tend to teleport to where survivors go if they genuinely go towards a tv, so I end up knocking them when they make “distance”. You can try juking like that but idk if all onions do that

I dunno if that first tip is good, sure you can prevent the teleport to the tv, but the cooldown won’t be as long, it’s better if you turn off the tv when you’re close to completing your gem so she doesn’t interrupt it. Because the tv cooldown from someone grabbing a tape is 60 seconds (shorter cooldown than a solo gen repair) compared to her teleporting to the tv which puts it under a 100 second cooldown (longer cooldown than a solo gen)

My first time every encountering her, i spent the whole game just collecting tapes😂 i didnt know what i was doing but i knew tapes gave me easy blood points

First tip can also backfire if the Sadako player pays attention to which TV's are turned on and could give your position away, which as a Sadako player, they should be doing anyway. I've managed to find people doing that by just noticing TV aura's either vanishing or not being there when it was before.

I main onryo and whenever I see a TV has been turned off (add on) I go right over to that gen lol

I never had Onryo with condeminnation builds, and even then I always used tape in time even when were in chase with her.
