Vienna Travel Guide - How to Buy Underground Train/Public Transport Ticket 🇦🇹 (Check Description)

The process of buying public transport ticket in Vienna is explained here.

If you want to get off/get on Trains, you must press the button to open the doors as doors don't open automatically.

Do not forget to validate ticket at validation machine before you start your journey.

If you are in Vienna for longer duration, you may buy 24 hr/48 hr /72 hr/Weekly Ticket as would be cheaper compared to one journey full ticket (2.4 EUR)

Tickets purchased are valid for all transport modes (Underground/Trams/Buses) within Vienna City area limits & need to buy separate ticket for Airport.

Two quick options for Airport
1. CAT (City Airport Trains) - Full Ticket 12 EUR
2. S7 - Full Ticket 4.3 EUR

S7 Trains from Vienna Midi
If you have valid 24 hr/48 hr /72 hr/Weekly Ticket you may buy ticket at discounted rate (1.9 EUR) to buy for outside city area as Vienna Airport is 20 kms away.

If you don't have a valid 24 hr/48 hr /72 hr/Weekly Ticket, please purchase a full price ticket at 4.3 EUR.

S7 takes approximately 25 mins to reach to VIE from Vienna Midi and are cheaper compared to City Airport Trains (CAT)

CAT fares are high (12 EUR) but takes you to Airport in 15 mins with lesser stops.
