On Number 4:

It is very wise to let the other person talk and to let them know you respect their opinions.
BUT, this is followed up by "never interrupt" and "Encourage them (to talk more)." I have talked to my fair share of people and when you meet someone who is good with discussion and debate, these are not a very good idea. People who are good at discussion could talk for hours, and can talk circles around you. Encouraging them to talk more is a bad idea since you are not putting your own thoughts into the equation and they could dismiss them before you ever brought them up.

Some people are very aggressive with speaking and may not give you the chance to talk. How can you persuade someone when you never get the chance too? You can't. Instead of "Never Interrupt" try "Interrupt politely. Instead of "Encourage them" try "Letting them speak is a good idea, but establishing that your opinion has value is important." That one is just a little bit longer.

Listening patiently is a good idea, so stick with that one. Just remember that peer to peer persuasion is discussion, not a stage performance!

The problem with 3 is that it’s a shallow type of convincing strategy, it also happens with salesmen, the customer thinks about their decision more and then regrets it. It will happen in conversation too
