Idle Relearn Procedure After Battery Replacement

If you just replaced the battery and car won't idle or stay on, this is the solution for it. Here's how to properly perform idle relearn procedure or process, solve idle issues

2019 chevy spark. Battery died and had a rough idle after replacing and swapping plugs, boots and coils. Had no idea I had to recalibrate the iac in these instances. After about 10 minutes of the idle playing back and forth it balanced out. Great tip, thanks again!

Also, the car must be fully warmed up, BEFORE you start the procedure.

This really works.

I did a clean up on the Throttle Body which is electronic (Dodge Avenger SXT 2008), and I had to disassemble it. At the moment I cleaned it, I had to touch and move the butterfly hoping that nothing would happen due I disconnect the negative terminal of the battery as my first step.
Anyway, the Throttle Body got dis-calibrated, in a fashion that when I start-up the engine the RPMs reached up to 2, 000 without decreasing. So I performed this procedure and my RPM come back to the normal.

After replacing the starter on my 08 Rav4 I could not figure out why the idle was now running so low. I went back over everything I had done and couldn't see any airflow hoses amiss... Your video solved my problem. Thank you much!🙏

Thank you! I've replaced the battery on my '06 Mustang V6 every 3 years since I bought it new (I live in the hot SW) and have never had an idle issue until replacing it last night. I thought my alternator was on its last legs until I found your video. I modified the instructions for my 5-speed to avoid keeping it in neutral and was good to go without the annoying idle.
