Plastic vs. bamboo matcha whisk. What’s better?

Resin matcha whisk or bamboo matcha whisk?
I couldn’t find a comparison online so I ended up getting a resin whisk to test it out. Who knew there was gonna be such a huge difference!?!

advice from a tea seller: soak the whisk in hot water before use. this way the bamboo gets soft and doesn't break (as easily)

There's a split down the inside middle of the plastic one. That's going to hide and grow bacteria and mold too.

Choosing for bamboo or wood tools is better for good quality, since resin plastic etc can melt under high temperatures. It also is better for the enviroment cause bamboo and wood are organic and easily decomposed in nature then the other options

Could you do the same experiment but with koicha (thick paste of matcha that can be used to make lattes)? Seen a lot of matcha shops use it for that

If you'd like an example of the same phenomenon, look into hand made wood rasps, from like 100 years ago, the imperfections actually make it better

Looks like your not presoaking your matcha wisk long enough if it breaks
Let it soak in warm water for 15 min before use

a good example of how disposable can be more eco friendly. bamboo grows incredibly fast and biodegrades, so even if the plastic one worked at all, the natural materials are better even if you replace them way more often

If reducing waste is a concern, I imagine a bamboo whisk, made of a biodegradable and super sustainable material, is probably the better option

It’s more about the shape than the actual material, though that does play a decent part in the overall all texture of the macha

Use an electric milk frother wand. Trust me, it works much better than bamboo, and it is much easier to use.

Also while whisking don’t press down hard into the bowl let the whisk do the work for you. I knew the plastic one wouldn’t work. And also the plastic particles will go into your matcha. Bamboo is natural to be human body so won’t harm your health. Let’s honor and preserve the integrity of how things have been done for hundreds of years. Almost every german Restaurant has options for Kids. It's usually on the normal menu and has lots of names: "Für unsere kleinen Gäste" (for our little guests), "Für den kleinen Hunger" (if you are just a little hungry) or they just offer smaller portions of their regular food. Did you ask the staff for kids menu's? Also they often offer drawing supplies so the children have something to do. And high chairs for little ones are always available.

Personally, u just put the matcha into a cup with water, then just mix in with a whisk for a minute. Never comes out clumpy, just make sure to cieve before

Maybe try the resine one again but make the bristles more thinner so its more flexible

We have a kind of coffee pot thing that blends stuff. It’s initially made to whisk whipped cream I think, but it goes really fast and usually when me and my mom make Matcha, we just use that thing and it froths really easy.

I would always be scared to use the clear winner, the bamboo whisk. I'd be paranoid that the little bristles would break in a small piece, and accidentally, I'd drink it/get it stuck in my throat or whatever. Im just paranoid about this lol ❤❤❤
