As a hardtail rider myself, I would encourage adding tire inserts. I run Tannus Armor tubeless in mine and it's been a game changer. Vibration dampening, lower tire pressures, and sidewall support. Makes the ride that much better.

I'm old school on a budget. I bought a new Nucleus from you guys and I'm stoked! Just did pedals, and converted to tubeless. That's it. Just ride! If something breaks, then I upgrade

I did upgrade the fork from 130mm to 150mm, stem to 50mm, handlebar to 780mm, dropper post to 150mm, saddle, drivetrain to NX Eagle 1x12, brakes and rotors 180 F/R, wheels and tires. Now the only original thing I have is the frame :)

“Suspension” dropper post like PNW coast suspension! It’s a brilliant addition to hardtail. Air tight setting removes bump shocks effectively without sacrificing pedaling efficiency (no bobbing).

I've had my Scout Comp 290 just a little while, and the first change was the tires. Holy moly, that stock Assegai/Dissector combo will undoubtedly be incredible in the wet conditions commonly featured in UK videos, but they can be terrifying in hard dry cornering. My switch to Icons has turned my bike into a real speedster, and one I can steer aggressively in the dry (and on pavement).

the only upgrade I made to my old hardtail was peddles, went from the standard cheap ones to a set of raceface Chesters. my bike is a 2014 giant talon, the bike had done me well for years now.

I went the opposite route to upgrade and just upgraded to a whole new hardtail. All parts and frame selected by me for a nice custom build.

Getting my phd in hardtails from youtube, today I learned .... some tires are meant to roll in one direction, while others are unidirectional.

I just upgraded the brakes from my basic Tektro Auriga hydraulic brakes to a Shimano set of brakes. I also upgraded my contact points: I got a new set of Funn Black Magic pedals, wider 770mm handlebars and a shorter stem.

I'm not running tubeless yet, but I will eventually make that upgrade.

What a great rundown -- perfect for where I'm at.
I have 2 old bikes, a 90s Trek and an 80s Stumpjumper, and am ready for better tires and points of contact.
I wonder if I can go tubeless with these two old steeds!

Slim, QUIET, works great. I wanted modern and out of the way. This is it!

I subscribed just to learn more of this English-like language. I’ll try some of this on my Scott hardtail, along with a new set of longer-travel shocks. Thanks!

I have just gone oval chainring on mine, I'll be testing this on the climbs this weekend and see if it helps the old knees..
