I had a 100 lb pipe fall on my head back in '81 while on a sub in drydock. I was not diagnosed with TBI until just a couple of years ago. You are lucky that you will be getting proper treatment and rehab and therapy to better handle the symptoms from TBI. In the 35 years after the injury I went through 23 jobs with over 3 and a half years of that unemployed. Mostly due to subtle memory and emotional issues.

Hang in there! I've had a couple of concussions myself, and while they were both years ago, I'm still feeling the effects. It's a marathon, not a sprint -- don't rush things. We'll be patient ;-)
