2023 Chevy Colorado Z71 vs Ford Ranger Lariat | Is One Clearly Better?!

We take a look at the all new 2023 Chevy Colorado Z71 and compare it to the outgoing Ford Ranger Lariat. Is the new Colorado Z71 worth the upgrade over the Ranger? As a whole, the Ranger platform is looking dated but still offers some nice amenities considering its age. The new Colorado offers a much better driving experience with a more powerful engine, better chassis tuning, and better seating position although some of the interior materials could be better. Nice advertisement from a Chevy dealership! Is there really no locking differential in the Z71? The Ranger Lariat has that. Both of these trucks shown have the same ground clearance, at 8.9. Ford offers a tune for the current Ranger, which increases peak output to 320 horsepower and 355 lb-ft of torque. Chevy’s tune will only increase the torque. I predict the next generation Ranger will be a step above the Colorado.

I believe the upgrade to 430 from 391 is around $395. Great video. I drove a Ranger last week and the engine doesn't compare with the Colorado's.

I'll go with the Chey Colorado. Matter of fact, I had ordered one with the 2.7 Liter Plus, and I watched a lot of video on it and feel I made the right decision. I been waiting on its delivery for over five weeks..

2.3 ford is a garbage can motor with a turbo that won’t last 70k miles on it. I watch my neighbors pouring smoke as goes in and out of the neighborhood.

What do you mean Colorado is a LITTLE more updated, , , lol Ford still has a needle speedo and Ford touch screen is like 2017, , , , Chevy blows this truck away in every aspect, , including the new 2024 Ranger! This comparison wasn’t fair! 310hp too!

The new Ranger is better than the new Colorado. The colorado is nice though, better than the previous colorado.
