2023 Chevy Colorado Z71 vs GMC Canyon Elevation | Feature & Pricing Breakdown!

In this video I compare the 2023 Chevy Colorado Z71 and the 2023 GMC Canyon Elevation options, features, and pricing. With the next generation right around the corner, the Colorado Z71 and Canyon Elevation are likely to be very popular among shoppers. Despite the Elevation being the entry level trim, the GMC Canyon gets many standard features that are optional on the Chevy Colorado. The Canyon receives the widebody, lift, and 2.7L HO tune automatically which makes the Elevation a very compelling trim if you want those features. If you are not seeking the widebody, lift, and tune then I would say the Colorado Z71 Convenience II or III would give you better bang for the buck in the mid to upper $40k price range.

I don't understand why GM thinks everyone only wants a truck for off roading. There are lot of us that tow and do a lot of highway miles. I have order a maxed out 2023 Colorado Z71 because it DOESN'T have the lift and wide stance and has an air dam. I wanted a Canyon Denali but opted out because it wasn't available in a "normal stance" highway cruiser. In fact the day that my Colorado is delivered I will be heading to the tire store to remove the all terrain tires (only thing they come with) and replacing them with all season touring/highway tires.

I agree with your assessment 100%. Yes, I would absolutely cross shop these two trucks. Looking forward to cross shopping as well the new Ranger and Tacoma along with the recently redesigned Frontier (Hopefully, Honda will add the Trail Sport trim to the Ridgeline as well).

I did check out both of these but went with Canyon AT4 in Sterling Metallic. Supposed to arrive by June.

I read they started shipping February 28th as EPA mileage ratings approved now

I looked into this and the Z71 is the clear winner. The Elevation lacks memory seats, cooled seats, and contrast interior. You also cant option the upgraded Bose stereo. Despite this, when you option them up as equally as possible, the Canyon still comes out to be about $1000 more than the Z71.

I prefer the exterior appearance of the Canyon. I Just wish the second row had more passenger space.

I still think Chevy should have made all their Colorado's with the wide body to me and looks much better and I think they should have put more effort. Into the trail boss with a better interior and offer some of the stuff like the Z71 are the LT comes with.
