How to Build a DIY Arcade Machine under $100?

One sheet of OSB, an older version of a Raspberry Pi, a monitor, a few buttons, and a joystick are all you need to build an Arcade machine! It can be made under $100 in just 4 days. It's a lot of fun to play it but even more to build especially if you can share the experience with someone and teach a younger person how to use the tools and build cool stuff!

It was really nice to see you and your brother working on this together, you know you've made an impact when you go away for a while and he's made heaps of progress unsupervised!

Wow! I didn't think that I'd like an arcade build made of OSB, but actually it looks really cool. Something you might consider since this is a one player arcade machine: If you have an open USB port available on the Raspberry Pi that you used, consider adding a wireless Xbox 360 clone controller so that you can play 2 player games with your brother (if there are no USB ports open, you can always add a USB hub, they are pretty cheap). Not sure if Recall Box supports this feature, but I know that Batocera does. With your 3D printing skills, you can make a custom holder for the controller to hold it in place on the side of your arcade, or just make it out of scrape OCB. Really excellent job you two, you should be very proud of your hard work.

That came out pretty epic, and it's a great use for some of the really old components that would probably have ended up in a landfill sooner or later :)

Raspberry Pi’s are crazy! I used one for running ChatGPT 4o in the terminal and of course it wasn’t fast but for it’s price faster than my 7 year old Mac! Thanks for the vid! Keep the good work!

Materiał klasa jak zawsze 😁Mam pytanie odnośnie frezarki CNC. Jak zrobiłeś odciąg? Może masz jakiś materiał do tego a ja po prostu przegapiłem. Za całość generalnie szacun.

If you use a nano FPGA board with misterFPGA instead the experience would be superb.

That looked like a LOT of work. I mean a LOT. Nice machine though

Isn't electricals+ wood= fire hazard? What electrical + wood project that will surely catch fire? I would love to see some disaster and destruction
