DIY Build - French cleat system

I finally got to start organizing my workshop and I started building a French cleat system to organize all of my most used tools. Over the next few weeks I will be building more attachments to make my workshop more convenient to use.
The beauty about this system is that you can customize it any way you like. And if you get a new tool and you get rid of an old tool you can just switch out the holders without having to drill new holes into the wall. You can switch attachments around to adapt to your needs.

PLEASE READ: I'm NOT an expert. Woodworking is my hobby, and I like to film along my progress since it is a joy for me to do. Please don't copy any of my unsafe habits. I'm still learning. Please be mindful of this if you are watching my videos, Please get inspired with my designs but use your woodworking skills and do better in the execution. I will try to do better in my next video ;-) ( Yes, I will tie my hair back more efficiently and I will use my splitter and other safety gear).

I recommend using a feather board when ripping long pieces. It helps apply even pressure so your boards don't come out all wonky.

Not only a great learning video but also one in maintaining focus on the topic at hand and self control over my basic male instinct. I confess, my mind went elsewhere, I had to pause few times but did manage to regain control and learn about building a French cleat system while being really "excited" about it. Generally, this is a really good idea for anyone working with stud walls and a need to move modest, static, weight around. I like that this installation has more horizontal cleats than I might've used, but I now understand. Very good video. Thank you!

Great creative content, but have safety comment: Around spinning power tools, long dangling hair is very dangerous. We lost a young lady in a local machine shop due to hair entanglement. Bundle that hair up, keep it at or above the neck, around spinning power tools. Be safe and creative!!!

A feather board helps with ripping long boards to keep the wood against the fence. Thanks for making this. I am going to do this in my shop.

I have a French Cleat System on two sides of my garage. I bought 1x4x8 pine and cut a 45 degree angle on each side. Cut to length and afix to wall. Quick, safe, less expensive than ply wood.

It’s so easy to fix the panels at the wall without predrill and put dowels in the wall.
It’s one of the disadvantages of German houses.

There are expensive kits to do this same thing, I almost bought one to hang my hunting equipment on and keep it organized but now I'm just going to build it myself. Thanks pretty lady!
