For this first week of Art Camp 3, we're going to break down landscapes to their essential components. We're going to look in depth at the specific fundamentals that landscapes rely on to be successful and start doing exercises to push those abilities.

There's a lot of repetitive work this week, but we need to drill this lesson in because it's so incredibly important. Everything we're doing in this course for the next few months is built on this basic lesson.

Each of these studies should probably take you 15-30 minutes. If in doubt, err on the slow side. These are not supposed to be done quickly. Take your time and get those values right. If something looks off, stop yourself, analyze, and correct the values.

I have heard all of the things in this video before, but this is legitimately the best video at illustrating them all and showing how to immediately apply them that I have ever seen, ever. Hey! I don't even do photoshop and got sucked into this class. It just happened to be on the TV this morning after my 8 year old daughter fell asleep watching youtube last night. Great thing youtube keeps running cause I may have never found you. Even my husband who is a data analyst and retired from the Army said he was sucked in earlier in the morning before I can down. For 2 adults to be sucked into a teaching video for a program neither even uses or knows how to use is pretty impressive. Obviously you know that with over a million views, but the way you show the layers and coloring of the big shapes down to details I crazy informative in so may ways. I have a big issue creating depth manually. I'm an Alcohol Ink Artist so luckily the inks do that for me, but I do struggle when creating other things to go with my art and this is super helpful. We will be playing your videos nightly while working on our hobbies to learn what we can learn. Thank you so much! We appreciate you!
