Tim Doner, at the young age of 17, became what's known as a "hyperpolyglot" by being able to communicate in more than 20 languages! He is the youngest person in the history of the old that is known to possess this ability. Let's take a look at Tim's polyglot story and language journey, and see what we can learn from it.

I am waiting for the day I meet someone on YouTube who speaks Mono-Alu... the language of the Shortlands (a few islands in Solomon Islands.) There are fewer than 4, 000 speakers, so I suppose it is unlikely. I know about 100 words, that I learnt when I was in the Solomons.I would like to learn more !

This is the most and perhaps the only intelligent assessment of Tim Doner. You yourself are so intelligent, ColeLangs. God bless you. What you have done here is so inspiring. Thanks to Tim but, more importantly, thanks to you.

That map of the locations he can speak the language, he doesn't highlight these countries, but speaking french and english also should have highligthed the US, Canada, the UK and Australia! He already speaks a bit of dutch, so if he gets good in dutch, while speaking a different language, he can also communicate with the afrikaans speaking countries in Africa... And since he speaks italian, AND french, and has notions of latin, I'm pretty darn sure he can already somewhat communicate with the spanish and portuguese speaking poeple... This guy can literally go anywhere in the world and speak the local language or something close enough... Thats insane! For sure he works at the CIA now.

That video was the one that got me interested in language learning btw!

London, New York and Dublin are the most cosmopolitan cities for language practicing I have ever been.
I'm a polyglot myself, by the way. 4 languages only.. but always improving.. thanks for the videos..

Absolutely amazing, what a beast!
His French pronunciation is absolutely on point.
It kind of irks me when people call 'Greek' a dead language though, I feel like people should at least say 'Ancient Greek' :P

I also know that perception. When I speak in another language and tell people I'm British, they're like "that's impossible" especially when I lived in Bangkok and would speak Thai with locals, they don't expect expats to even know more than just สวัสดีครับ

I learned German in College. I never, ever spoke it in the USA after class. I brushed up a bit for my trip to Germany, which was useful but I have not spoken it since.

That's rather funny, we actually see the Americans as very direct. I'm sure you referred to the Netherlands and not Belgium (where we also speak Dutch) BUT we're rather timid and very careful with what we say.
