Toyota Called Me About Buying The Brand New 2020 Supra!!

The 2020 Supra is Here! Should I buy it now? I have been on the list with my Toyota dealership for the last 8 months to be one of the firsts to purchase the all new 2020 Toyota Supra! They gave me a call and let me know that the end of the month a black Supra is coming in. They asked if I'd like to place a deposit on it to buy it! I said no just because I want a white or red car.

So in the next month or so I will be getting another call when my desired spec is on the way. The $2,500 deposit will hold the car and gets deducted from my down payment.

So.... What should I do?
Should I trade in my 2014 Nissan GT-R for the new Supra and then buy another Nismo 370Z ASAP?

Or... Buy the new Supra along side my current GT-R and have them together for a while and later in the year/early next year, decide what car gets swapped for something else, if anything.

Lastly... Not buy a brand new A90 Supra, and plan on buying one in a year when they are on the used market for close to $40k? Which would mean, go ahead and buy a Nismo 370Z along side my 14' GT-R, and then trade in my GT-R for a 2017+ GT-R!

I am pretty torn on what makes the most sense. Each option has its pros and cons, so I'd love some feedback!

Buissness wise your gtr (is and always will be an amazing car no doubt about that) is getting up there with age. Even as a sale ur potential buyer market is getting smaller (specialy if u let it go modified (which is fun, but value wise ....) ). This channel is ur buissness and u know very well u got to keep up with what's hot. Supra is the hottest thing and all mod videos will pay back 😉😁.
Personal pick. New gtr and supra. Both been titans . Now u have opportunity to grow with it. Mod compare, review etc. Sponsorships/discount from tunners will appear shortly. U are a bright kid whatever u decide will be supported 👍👍👍👍 best of luck to you.

Speaking for purely selfish reasons I would like to see you get another 370Z and you either keep your GT-R or trade it in for a newer one. I really liked the white 370Z NISMO that you had and that was the reason I found your channel in the first place. Because I liked your 370Z so much I ended up buying myself a low milage 2012 370Z NISMO as an affordable sports car to drive around whenever I have the time to do so. 

From what I can tell I think your viewers really liked your 370Z and also your GT-R and the Tacoma. The Supra looks like a nice car but is too similar to the BMW Z4 and I'm not sure how popular it will be. Anyway, you and your brother keep up the great work and it's nice that you are both able to do Youtube as your full time job!

Ummm...the last option sounds like the best option [from a dollar perspective]. The cars are all excellent for content so you will have all those and more. I'm on my 38th car. All my favorite right then.
Still have my '13 Genesis Coupe (Grand Touring/auto) and still love it. Got to go with your better judgement on this one bro

A lot of people want to see the new Supra! This would bring a lot of views and new subscribers as it is a brand new car a lot of people are hyped about. Up to you... just saying the supra is a better business decision.

From a business stand point buying the Supra is a most! It’s new and the content you can make with it will be content that doesn’t exist so far. Purely selfishly I would love to see a Nismo 370z back on the channel as your channel is what got me to buy my Nismo. And I think Nismo and the super would be a cool combo!

Wow lots of options cannot remember them all. For me best options: Option 2: Get a 370Z and get Supra. Option 3: Keep GTR and get GR Supra. Special Option: Trade in GTR for GR Supra, buy 2020 Nismo GTR or other GTR later.

For me I’m getting a used GR Supra after getting a GT86, hopefully GR Supra will be £30 grand in 3-5 years. Depreciation in GR Supra is a concern but i wouldn’t worry about it for 2 years think unless a manual version comes out in between or faster vers it will be fine.

I think having your current GTR and the new Supra will definitely help you generate more exciting content and grow your Channel. It just comes with higher cost and risk.

I have a 17’ GTR with the same set up as you. Overall, I think it looks much better than the older GTRs and the performance is slightly better. The biggest change is the exterior and interior. It’s a bit softer than the older GTRs and has some major sound proofing which makes the car seem much quieter on the inside. I did sound comparisons before my friend sold his 15’ GTR and there’s a big difference with interior exhaust noise. There are 17’s going for 75 to 85k now which a good deal considering the car is over 100k now. I would only recommend a 17’ GTR or newer if someone is looking for their first GTR. You already have an amazing GTR.

I think you should keep your GTR because there’s so much potential with your car and plus it’s your dream car. I would wait and see about the Supra because the depreciation, and pricing at the mount seem too volatile. Not worth taking that risk. It would be awesome to see you build a Supra eventually.

I think it makes sense to continue building the GTR, save up for the new Supra, and allow the prices to become more reasonable. Just my opinion. I look forward to whichever cars you will build next!

Do not get rid of the gtr. Keep the gtr and get the Supra! We could get great content between the both of them! You can keep building the gtr (which was your dream car) as well as build the Supra! Maybe even race them at the drag strip and auto cross and see which one is better at which.

I vote for option 2. You talked a lot about depreciation which I don’t see being an issue with the Supra. Even if the car isn’t what people want, the hype is insane around it. Plus, one just sold at 2.1 million on Barrett Jackson. The fans will keep the value up

I would suggest going with a newer Nissan GT-R and a Nismo 370Z. Your limiting factor for the new Supra would be the unproven reliability of the B58 engine in this form and the fact that you would not be doing any engine tuning. The factor to consider is saturation, every car YouTube content creator will be purchasing one and therefor the only differentiating factor would be the level of modifications that are carried out.
