I wish the auto makers would get back to basics, less gadgets less to foul up.

There’s a lot of people who just want a reliable basic affordable car.

Their major problem is THEY ARE TOO EXPENSIVE!

Actually, with the hybrid Toyotas, they do have both electric and standard hydraulic braking system so it’s electric over hydraulic and regardless if the power braking system stops working, the standard hydraulic power part of the brakes will still work. They are completely separate of one another, but made redundant in case one system fails. The standard hydraulic braking system that you were used to in the 60s and 70s will never fail to pedal make it hard to push, but you’ll always be able to stop and maintain control the vehicle. As an automotive assembler of the RAV4, I can tell you exactly how they work as described above.

I just want a simple gasoline powered car! No cylinder deactivation, no stop-start, no turbocharging, no hybrid, no three cylinder engine!!!

In the past three years, I've bought two 2010 Rav4s and a 2010 Tundra. All with 200k miles, all run like new. I'm 55 years old and hope I never have to buy another vehicle.

Not alibiing for Toyota, but people should work at braking BEFORE a corner and letting off the brakes as much as possible during the turn, even with ABS. It prepares you for winter driving as well. While everyone else is told in wintertime to turn the steering wheel in the direction of the skid, I was raised in Minnesota. We were trained to turn it in the direction of something cheap.

At least toyota recalls and fixes the problem . You got to give them that. Other brands don't do that alot of times

Owner of 2024 Corolla XSE, called the 800 number Scotty provided, there are no recalls outside of the Corolla Cross Hybrid. Quite satisfied with this vehicle, Comfortable, good performance, and great gas mileage. And Made (put together) in the USA.

They should go back to manual Windows, manual, locks, manual mirrors, manual transmissions. The only Hi-Tech I want are heated side mirrors

My 2005 Camry V6 runs like a clock at over 450, 000 km

The cost of manual transmission, saves on the cost and its better than hybrid. No recall for most of manual transmissions.

Not that I want to be contrary but I have a 2010 Ford Flex with 149, 000 miles. The self parking is very functional and very handy - especially when the parking is tight.

Making Camry hybrids and Corolla Cross hybrids in the USA unfortunately. Corolla hybrids still made in Japan.

I think every mass production car maker should have a so called "dumb car" like in mobile phones, where you don't have a lot of computers in them. Only ac, automatic pilot, power windows, power steering, airbags, analog dashboard with bluetooth connection (no infotainment screen) so you can listen to music from your phone and that's about it.

The only new cars I'd buy would be a Mazda cx5 non turbo no cvt, and a Nissan frontier basic v6. All new toyota cars, trucks, suv are pure junk now

Toyota is definitely not as good as they once were since early 2000's but their still better than the other auto offerings. I still drive my 2005 Camry, now 20 years old and running like new with well north of 350, 000 kms. Toronto, Canada
