No matter who plays it, it is clearly the best guitar solo and the best rock song ever!

No man can ever capture the magic of Jimmy's 1973 MSG solo, no matter how incredible their version is...

I've been clickbaited, I thought this was Jimmy Page's top 5 performances of this.

Title should be renamed best covers of the solo and not best solos!

Number three used a Tele, which is what Page used on the solo in the studio. His 59 from the Yardbirds which was given to him by Jeff Beck.

The last guitarist made the solo his with the awesome bends and the improv at the end after the original solo, very nice indeed.

This is a very good idea to compile many versions of a solo by talented guitarist. Great concept.

There is a cover from a channel called "larzgallows" and he is honestly the closest I've seen. He's done the studio solo perfectly AND TSRTS solo and nails it.

Nope and no way Best cover is by Thomas75 !

The 3rd was the best. It was recorded on a tele

That Sean Boothe guy absolutely nailed it. The transitioning from one lick into the next was so well done. His interpretation of the Page solo was probably one of the best I have ever heard. I'm thoroughly impressed by his playing. Nothing sloppy going on with this guy. He's hitting every freaking note and it's all the little nuances he is using that makes his solo so well done. So I had to comment. :-I

Jun626 & Sean ....both smooth and kept the tempo with no missed notes.

Playing that fantastic guitar riff is one thing, but coming up with it for the song is entirely another. As great as Plante's vocals are during the song Pages guitar riff is what made this song the #1 all-time greatest rock tune of all time on most lists worthwhile reading.

Player 2 and 3 are the same guitarist. That said I prefer the second one as Page actually recorded that solo on a Tele. It captures the tone better.

A few too many flubs in the 2nd to last version... Robertson I think it said. Francesco's version was a little weak too.

Jun626 version on the Tele should be at the top of the list. There is also a version by Thomas75s with a great improv at the end that should be at or near the top of the list... well above Francesco's.

the solo cover by *larzgallows* is my favourite.
(not covered in this compilation, though)
jun san (jun626/jun626hyper) did an awesome job as well.

Jun626HYPER gets my vote. Maybe not as exact spot-on perfect joe boothe, BUT close enough AND he’s got cooler guitar, great shirt, striped pants, and sweet rings on his picking hand. Hey, you gotta have tie breaker.

When I close my eyes and listen for the precise notes, pitch, bravado, bends and inflections from each guitarist it is clear that Sean Boothe is the closest to Page's studio creation

For me the best one is the live version in the The Song Remaims the Same album
