How to Use 7-Zip to Compress Files and Extract Files

In this video I am going to show How to Install 7Zip on Windows 11 operating system. 7-Zip is open source software. Most of the source code is under the GNU LGPL license. The unRAR code is under a mixed license: GNU LGPL + unRAR restrictions. Check license information here: 7-Zip license.

With the free download of 7 Zip you get a classic of the pack programs. It has a high compression rate in 7z, ZIP and GZIP format. When unpacking it also supports all other popular formats.

uh, an older model? im not sure but my 7-Zip doesn't create new 'unique' folder --atleast for what i've downloaded but-- and it creates a REPLICA of it's Program Files template

Hello- Question: I downloaded Microsoft Office 2016 from a license I have and when I chose to open file from download, it opened with 7Zip. But it shows a list of 25 file folders. What do I have to do from here? Do I have to extract all folders, save all folders somewhere else, unzip the setup.exe file? I'm confused. Can you give me any hints? Please!

It would've been nice if you'd dealt with the issue of 7-Zip file compatibility with other ZIP utilities. In the old days before people wanted lotsa features (like encryption) you could zip files with pretty much any utility and anyone with any other zip utility could open it. I'm wondering if plain vanilla 7-zipped files can be opened, for example, with the built-in Windows "Extract" utility. Can I create ordinary ".zip" files with 7-Zip? If so, what features are supported? How do I specify this? If I (for example) encrypt a file using 7-Zip, what other tools might possibly be able to open it. If I create a ".7z" file, what other tools can open that? And so on. Back when, the universality of "zip" files was one of their big selling points. But as we now require more of our zip files, things are more complex. I don't see how anyone could seriously consider a ZIP utility without some discussion of these issues. Thanks.
