Best 7-Zip Compression Settings for 7z and Zip File Formats

In this video I will be showing you the best compression settings for 7-zip. We will be focusing on 7z and Zip formats. While 7z gives the best compression ratio, the Zip formatting is more commonly used.

The results that you will get from these 7zip settings will vary depending on the files you''re trying to compress. Some files, like mp4, are already compressed in some form. Because of the existing compression you'd be unlikely to see a massive reduction in file size depending on the file formats.

7zip allows you to archive multiple files and folders into one document. The created file is a smaller compact version which must be extracted to access the files. 7-zip is a great free archiver that allows for great compression in multiple format types.

Whether you're hosting your backups online, or on a physical hard drive, it is a good idea to compress your files first. You will be able to save space and get more data onto your storage system and even transfer the files faster.

Hey everyone don't follow this guide, the settings really are NOT the best, especially if you want high levels of compression

comprssion level = ultra
comprssion method = LZMA2
Dictionary size = (Change it to the top according to your device specifications) + (decrement option (number of CPU threads) to raise this option)
word size = 273 ( or max)
solid block size = solid
number of CPU threads = Change it to fit (Dictionary size)

note:
Dictionary size + number of CPU threads = Depends on the power of your device

Will this work for high resolution photos and videos files and after extracting the zip file again will i get the same quality which was earlier before compression?

I have some important CCTV footage for the Police but Yahoo emails will only take 25 megs max upload yet the files are 79 megs... I got a free zip converter and all this did was to convert it down to an amazing 76 megs.... whats the point I say to myself of that....????

Small knowledge here 😂😂😂😂 it's all depends on which kind of cpu you have, if you have that support multi threading like 4 core 4 thread 8 core 8 thread, process won't take long but don't do it in low end pc 😂😂😂
