it all narrows down to good lighting and a little bit of set design😊😊

Just an observation. I was watching one of your YouTube buddies who set up there different aps-c cameras, each using different lenses. What became apparent was the Sony 15mm was the sharpest of all. The others were the Sigma 16mm and Yongnuo 16mm. The two off-brands were good, but when it came to detail, fine detail, the Sony was the best. I, myself, have noted just how good the 15mm is. Glass does matter.

I own this camera and a Rode Video Mic Go 2 and Rode wireless. I’ve been super happy with it and I make all my videos on YouTube with it. You’re right it’s all about lighting and this video was a great new resource. Good job!

Crazy so many hate on the Zv-e10, the image quality out of this camera is insane for what it is.

I have this camera and invest in new lenses. It is an amazing camera. I am learning a lot about it. It can do so many things. 🤩

Hey Thomas, what peeked my interest is your gobo set up… can you do a video about DIY gobo setups for us mere mortals?… also I totally agree, too much of the YouTube space is dominated by this spec and that spec, this new camera and that camera, but we are in an age now where all cameras are damn good, heck even cameras from 7 years ago are still good. What the focus needs to be on is your skill with your weapon of choice(camera), your lighting, your audio and your color grading and editing. And to the aspiring filmmaker reading this go out and shoot with what you have and you’ll find out quickly how satisfying it is to overcome a situation with creativity and not feel defeated because you don’t have a specific piece of gear. Gear is temporary but your stories are forever 👌

Nice video Thomas! I loved the image straight out of my ZVE-10, but I have upgraded to be able to shoot longer content without overheating. I do, however, agree that if you know what you're doing it's a great little camera...and lighting is KEY (pun intended...lol)

Looks great! Lighting is always undervalued, especially in a studio setting.

As they are fairly cheap, a diffusion filter could work well in a setup like this too. It won't control the lighting but it would soften any of those light sources. They've gotten fairly cheap now (and the filter thread on that Sigma 16mm is quite common too).

Awesome video! Thanks for the tips. What temp is your key light? i notice your hair light looks a bit warmer than standard 5600k. Ive been using 5600k for years for my vids and have been debating on trying a new warmer look as i build out my new recording space.
