Chi is the best petite stylist ever! She has that rare, objective eye that can assess what does and doesn’t work. It’s hard to beat her great styling tips, even for those who aren’t short or made small. I really love silk neck-scarves, too, they do draw the eye up to the face and are great for tying together outfits of a two or three plain, solid colors. They add color, pattern, softness, elegance and femininity, and are very French-style. French women really know how to style themselves well. I think many of us Americans have unfortunately been told to hide “figure flaws”, like a round tummy, “big bottom”, thighs, etc. with big tent-like clothes. Don’t do this, show your beautiful shape! If you’re female, you have already have a great shape! I was complaining about my proportionately thicker waist (compared to my really narrow hips, size about 4 hips, 8 waist), in a shop the other day and the assistant said “wear a peplum top that flares out from just under the bust”. That’s the worst advice I ever heard, I don’t want to hide my waist, I just wanted a pair that of shorts that fit both at the waist and the hips, for once. Don’t listen to people like her that don’t have a clue, stick with our Chi!

I always have problems of following styling guides - either I get bored or I don't think I will remember the guides when I dress up. But with your videos, it's so fun to watch and your points make total sense that I remember them when I shop. Thanks a lot for making these types of videos.

This petite completely agrees - short tops always! Or, completely tucked in, showing the waist is the key. I don’t always wear long bottoms, though, I like mini-skirts and dresses a lot. I also wear comfy, mid-heeled footwear. Wedges give height, too, but there’s something much more lengthening and flattering about seeing some daylight under the arch of the foot. I can only wear heels up to about 2.5 inches high, but they make all the difference. For the first time in my life, mid-heeled, comfortable shoes are finally widely available, thank goodness. I’m 64 and until the pandemic the choice was only between high heels (3 inches and up), which I can’t wear, or complete flats, which I don’t like. I only wear sneakers if I must, I just don’t really the way I look in them in my skirt outfits and dresses, which I wear most days year-round. I just think they are ten times more comfortable than any divided bottom (trousers, shorts), I’m both very high-, and somewhat thick-, waisted as a rectangle shape and they always, always ride up, I hate that.

Hi Chi. I just discovered your channel and I'm devouring your past videos. You're a genius for how you break everything down so scientifically. Thanks for your service to the petites of the world!

I only wear short tops, or tuck in longer ones. The best thing I ever did for my style was to get rid of all those tunic tops, they made my whole figure look even shorter, bigger and blocky. Long tops are back on trend, but they are more fitted and, often, open from hem to waist. I might try one, but I love my tops waistband to hip-hipbone length. I agree with Chi, the short-too over long-bottom is the most flattering.

I have watched many of your videos, but this one was probably the MOST helpful. Jammed packed full of practical tips that apply to me. I'm new to being petite. What do i mean? I was 5'5" in my younger days, but now at age 69 have shrunk to 5'4". I am trying to learn new ways and you have helped me so much with these tips. thank you!

Great tips, dear Chi! Wearing short tops is definitely a game changer. Also to bear in mind that " Your legs are only as long as of your pants". Thanks, Chi!

Huge thanks and immense gratitude to Chi for bringing clarity to the befuddled world of dressing for we short girls.
Ladies, l love this community and learn a lit from all of you. It really makes for hilarious reading. Am 67 was 5'2", of course now l'm shrinking. Did l know that? Hell no .... just noticed clothes looked off! Reading all your experiences is a tonic! Just have to laugh. Have realused that l cannot wear tops that have too much fabric as they overwhelm my frame. Soooo, have taken in a couple of loose shirts, it's made a Huge difference.
Be encouraged ladies, thank you all ❤

Something I struggle with, aside from my hight and gained chub, is the fact that I have a very sensitive stomach. In many instances I would love to wear a skirt that goes above my belly button, but it is usually the band of the skirt/pants/jeans that make me quickly feel uncomfortable and sometimes even sick/in pain.
However your video gave me great advice and I will see to it that I shorten my tops and elongate my pants as far as I can. :D
Something I also like doing is to draw the eye upwards, not just through color contrast, but hues or patterns/prints. I am also happy to hear that I am good to wear scarfs, they are my biggest essential in winter when it gets really cold here.
The shoe tip was also great and I will keep that in mind especially. Thanks again for your great work!
