It is extremely disturbing and sad that the arrogance and greed of one man has brought so much death, destruction and ultimately his on country to collapse. This is extraordinary!

"taking our freedom and using it against us" most accurate description I've heard.

Im sorry, but how is it even possible that you did not know Putin better? I am a 50-yearold mother from Sweden and I have been waiting for this since he murdered his way to power. The only surprice in my eyes is that he started with Ukraine and not from the arctic angle. I scares me quite a bit that he did not knew this a long long time ago. I really need our protectors to know Putin better than I do.

The little man with a funny walk is a strange being. He had it all in spades, and he has chucked it all away.

Only a weak military leader suggests the nuclear option, a strong leader uses diplomacy and advance tactics to get what he wants

@ 11:00 "We can't just throw American weapons into Russia to the maximum extent". I agree with this, but nobody is suggesting to do this at this time. In fact, Ukraine only just got permission to use Western weapons within a limited distance inside Russian territory. And, it took far too long for Western leaders to acquiesce to this decision.

I looked on the side of a Patriot missile system and it showed their kills on the side in black spray paint.
This is one of the Patriots that took out one of the two A-50s that Russia lost ($400m dollars each). Anyway those kills numbered 50 plus aircraft. The maths in lost dollars goes into the tens of billions, plus all the aircrews lost etc.

Just in the past week Russia lost oil to the cost of $500m. Plus three SAM systems ($1.5b) and all the crew. Plus two ships.

Not to mention a 5th generation fighter which hasn't the capabilities that are blatantly obvious to be anything but 5th Gen.

Russia is a joke.

On 17 September 2003 in Krasnodar, Putin met with local officials and declared, publicly, that he intended to "bring Ukraine back to Russia". Putin denied that Ukraine was a separate country. On 12 July 2021, Putin published an article on the Kremlin website, in which he repeated his fractured view that Ukraine belonged to him.

Russia is a pretty weak conventionally power compared to the US. They dream about being a superpower, but dont have a chanse to become that again. Its only a regional power with nukes.

Clear answers and thinking here from Andrew Fox.

I disagree in part. I don't think he chose to commit to a long-term war of attrition, he was forced into it when he mis-calculated and failed to meet his objectives in what he planned to be a very short-term war. The image of the chess master has definitely gone, its all blown up in his face, particularly with Finland and Sweden joining NATO.
