great review. Was thinking about getting this, I'll have to click on your links if I do as you did such an awesome job. Love the production of it all. It's not easy to do everything you did, I know how it can be to do multiple angles, make sure you test all the options, and do a comparison with other mics. So, amazing job; you are doing some really great things. Thanks for all you do brother.

MV7X is absolutely perfect. I got it today and it is all I might need. Pure quality and extremely low noise and right price.

Excellent review! I don't know about the new MV7+, it does sound warmer but bordering on muddled. Not sure if that can be DSP'd away on the usb interface. The SM7B and MV7X sounded the best on the Apple ear phones I'm using. I can't imagine how the MVX7+ would sound with the bass heavy boomy headphones people like using these days.

Shure MV7+ sound great. XLR mode sounds pretty good. Do you use an cloud-lifter? It's one of the three final microphones I've on my list (which one to get, Samson Q9U & Maono PD400X). Since it has USB-C to USB-C cable, I wonder if the mic can use USB-C to USB-A cable. Great walkthrough video on Shure MV7+, Dealcaster.

I heard from some people that the new Mv7+ on usb sounds worse compared to the old MV7 on usb, but overall better on xlr, can it be possible? I want to buy it but the thing is, if I buy the MV7+ ill use it on usb only so if the older Mv7 sound better would be a problem for me, i don't rlly care about xlr otherwise I would just buy the Mv7x with an audio interface, great comparison btw!

planning on buying the mv7+ (will likely use the xlr option with macbook), I don't have any other equipment, may I know which audio interface would be best (volt 1, focusrite, etc)? Ideally something compact, easy to use, and not to pricey.

I’m seeing a lot of confirmation bias in the comments. Does it sound like the Shure SM7B out of the box? No but it’s so close that your average person won’t even know the difference. But then again most people can’t tell the difference anyway. Now after it’s processed, I think the differences are negligible at best. The MV7+ does sound more like the SM7B than the original MV7.

A lot of folks still gatekeep on microphones. The idea that you HAVE to have an SM7B is ridiculous and if you’re giving people a hard time for not having one then you’re even more ridiculous.

Great review!

As someone with an older-ish computer, I wish they included a usb-a adapter or cable. Are desktops really all coming with usb-c these days?

Great video! I am hesitating between Shure MV7+ AND SM7dB + interface shure MVX2U (to make it USB). Which one would you recommend? I have no gears and want to do video podcasting/ youtube interviews with remote guest using Riverside. I want to keep it simple but with good sound. Thank you!

I just bought the white mv7+ last night, I sold my mv7 I think the old mv7 looks more professional. regarding the sound, seems like they all sound the same. other than that great video and thanks.

Thanks for the review. Can you still mute the mic from the mic itself like you can with the MV7. Also do things like the pop blocker and the denoiser persist on the mic so if you move it to a computer without the app installed those effects still work (similiar again to the MV7 - the settings are saved to the mic)? Thanks

The MV7+ looks distracting with the led and branding.

Also the Motiv app would’ve been nice if it had a DeReverb.

But other than that pretty cool.

Hi, can you add other sources, such as browser (youtube) or some music app installed in your computer? And to use it in Zoom, where your audience will hear you and the music at the same time? I guess you can route those in Windows volume mixer? Thanx, this is very important to me to know.
