So I recently purchased the mv7+ mic and the Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen. I’m really new to this whole scene. Now whether I connect the Mic to either usb or using the XLR cables directly into the interface, when ever I set headphone monitor on OBS I get a delay. I have been working on this for about three days now trying different things and asking on discord. I have tried using the software that comes with the MV7+ and without it. The way I have it set up. Mic is set up on the main screen for MV7+. The desktop audio is set up as MV7 plus headphones I go to the advance settings and set monitoring to MV7+ headphones. I then going to the settings and select monitor with other source. I have tried connecting to headphones directly into my computer and also connecting the headphones into the interface, but no matter what I connect to as soon as I hit headphone monitoring I hear the delay. Now I know if I connect to the interface and hit the direct monitor button then i won’t get a delay, but now I no longer hear any filters from OBS. I must be doing something wrong. Is there a way to get a walk-through of every setting I need to do?

Thanks for the review. I got the MV7+ as an upgrade from the MV7. Unfortunately it is going back. As you mentioned towards the end of your review, the resonance on this mic is bad. I didn't have this issue on the MV7. I record with games using the keyboard and also for work for demo videos, Zoom If I hit a key hard, i get the resonance picked up on the mike. Sounds like a metallic ring. Driving me insane when recording a video.

I am using a low profile mic boom so the mic stays out of camera and it is extended pretty far across my desk, but never had this issue with the MV7. Love the USB-C over usb micro the mute button for the mic, and pretty much everything else, but the resonance ruins everything else.

Great video! I am hesitating between Shure MV7+ AND SM7dB + interface shure MVX2U (to make it USB). Which one would you recommend? I have no gears and want to do video podcasting/ youtube interviews with remote guest using Riverside. I want to keep it simple but with good sound. Does the MV7+ requires an interface or amp boost to sound good? Thank you!

Thanks for the review. I just bought this and am going to return it right away. I can also concur that the sound quality was very unexpectedly mediocre. Sounded barely any better than my Samson q2u which I bought for 50 bucks. The touch pad light up mute button is pretty redundant. I also bought the shure mv7x which also sounds barely better than my q2u. Really blown away by the prices being so high not shure what the deal is.

On a side note what are some good mic’s that are in the 200-300 dollar price range? Ive heard audio from YouTubers and streamers that sound immaculate im guessing they’re using some really high end stuff.

I'm using the Shure MOTIV MV7+ combined with the Elgato Wave XLR interface. At around +45 gain I get a slightly audible white noise / static in the audio (NO background noise). Any idea how I can get rid of this white noise?

Here’s my issue with iPhone 15.
The only 2 usb mic with an app are rode / Shure.
The rode didn’t work properly.
The Shure was the only choice tbh
I just got this mic and the only other option was mv7 or this and this was better on tests I seen.
I guess for a usb mic it’s the best.
Also factor take off the foam cover and play with gain levels more. I try to peak it as high.

I wish they had a way to use XLR on usb? Like a cable that connects both.

Hi, can you add other sources, such as browser (youtube) or some music app installed in your computer? And to use it in Zoom, where your audience will hear you and the music at the same time? I guess you can route those in Windows volume mixer? Thanx, this is very important to me to know.

Would you recommend using a microphone like this for someone that uses speech recognition a lot? I was hoping a microphone like this would understand my spoken commands better and offer a higher % of accuracy. Would really appreciate an answer :)
