His standing up to step down and express to his congregation that he has pain is truly beautiful. I wish him and his family peace and healing.

Sad he couldn't say precisely what bothers him, what is the Church asking him to do that he finds immoral?

He & his wife were on "Mormon Stories" today! Excellent!

Can we all just hear him when he says, "There were a few things I was required to do that I can't morally stand by." That is A BIG DEAL! This obviously caring man was asked to do things he can't morally do.... Like that is a HUGE statement! Anyone know what those were? Was it like the abuse cover ups? or something else?

I am so glad he stopped agreeing to go against his moral compass! The light of Christ in him is clear, and I'm glad he won't have to act against it anymore!

His story is heartbreaking. I don’t know him— but I feel so much love for he and his family. ♥️

Proud of you, brother. I know that heartache, deep sadness and fear very well.

Our Heavenly Father loves us unconditionally. The Church is NOT the voice of the Father.
Realizing I’d been lied to was devastating and I don’t think I’ll ever fully come to terms with it. They literally destroyed me.

You are not alone, brother. There is growing number of people of faith that won’t stand for this crap anymore. Glad to have another brave soul awakened.

Its a heavy responsibility and in many cases it can be very overwhelming for the individual. Usually Bishops are called for 7 years and then released and another brother will step in his place. We cant judge why and what caused him. We can only love and appreciate him for his service to the church.

Being a Bishop is a tough gig. Much love to this man. I struggled with the whole "courts of love, " because, didn't Jesus pay for these sins? So why are we imposing punishment in the form of disfellowship or excommunication? Made no sense. Also I was chastised when I was honest about the level of inspiration we had around a calling. 1 in 20 felt inspired, the rest, we're were just hopeful to get someone.

To thine own self be true. That needs to be taught. Here is someone who truly cares.

Ohhh boy, I feel for this man. The mental gymnastics these folks go through is a psychological nightmare. But don't forget to pay your tithing...

As a former Bishop I can confirm unequivocally that you must have the support of your Stake President ( like I did ) if you are to be truly successful in the awesome responsibilities that a Bishop has. Reading between the lines I’m guessing the Bishop was not supported as he should have been….
Of course I could be wrong but I offer a unique perspective of someone who was a Bishop….
