Yeah. 2020 to now felt insanely fast, but doing the dishes for 15 minutes feels like an eternity…

“What’s mile 26 when you have 54 to go”
Some reason that hit hard

One of the best wisdom one of my patients imparted on me was “your age represents the speed of your life and I am already 87” when we were 5 yrs old, it felt like life/time was just passing by for 5mph. Now that I’m 30yrs old, life/time goes by faster. The takeaway from what she said is that as days go by, be more appreciative of the present, live in the moment, embrace changes, slow down when you need to, and be mindful of your journey—- I hope this wisdom gets pass on to people, as we often times forget to maintain balance and contentment in our lives.

"If I told you in 4 months 2020 was 5 years ago how would that make you feel?"

If you told me to run 80 miles, I’d laugh at the request and cry in my bed 🥲

I’m only a freshman in high school, and time feels like it’s slipping away from me so quickly already. This hit hard, such a good reminder to live your younger years to the fullest while you can

It's crazy how long and slow 4 years of high school felt when you were a teenager compared to how 4 years passing by as an adult feels

the idea that time moves too fast especially for young people like me is because they always are looking for something grand and big and better than what they have appreciated right in front of them at this moment and allowing natural growth. when you were young, you were just free. when you start growing up, you start growing insecurities but living a true life is learning to grow with the pain and not ignore it and shove it away. and besides who wants to be a kid forever, how would you really grow as a person? you’d have to grow eventually all over again still. you should never want to prevent growth. happy moments shouldn’t have to be the same always because all moments need to be different. slow down a little bit. it’s not that bad to let go and let life move you along. if it’s overwhelming, stop and breathe. you woke up today. you still have life ahead of you. there are things that are still not your concern. just take a moment and stop and breathe. life goes on and you have to push through.

5 years 5 years ago felt longer than 5 years now. I wonder how short 5 years will feel 5 years from now

Vsauce taught me this too. It actually changed how I looked at nostalgia, where older ppl are nostalgic for 40 years ago, while my nostalgia for 5 years ago is still valid because of how long I’ve lived and therefore how I perceive time is within a smaller range of years than an older person.

When I was at a doctors check up when I was 17, this nurse was talking to me while doing nurse things and we got into the topic of wanting to be done with school. She said to me "don't rush growing up. Enjoy the freedom you have". Now here I am. Have moved out of my parents place. Paying rent and having to do more adult things than my own things.

The older you get, the faster you perceive time.

Basically we were all rotting in bed so 2020-2022 went by quick.

That hit me hard. Looking back, I realize I was living on autopilot, just going through the motions. Each day felt like a blur, and I can’t help but wonder where the time went. It’s as if I was chasing something, but I never really stopped to feel or truly live. Now, I’m left with this aching emptiness, a longing for something more, something real. It’s a heavy weight to carry, knowing that I’ve been missing out on the moments that truly matter.😢

I do miss the endless summers hanging out with friends when I was a child. I sometimes wish I can hit the reset button and try it all again.
