Nel Noddings explains care ethics. From a feminist perspective, the male perspective of the dominant moral theories have left out significant moral insights of the feminine experience, especially around the experience of motherhood and care giving.

The excerpts discussed here are from the following textbook:
Marino, Gordon (editor). Ethics: The Essential Writings. Modern Library 2010.

Over the past 12 years the relationship between myself and my cat objectively changed, in a way that can be described as growth. For the first few years when I would pick her up to move to another room, she would wrestle me the whole time to get away. But now I can move her around and she does not fight it. Also after I returned from an eight month hospital stay, she started to insist on sleeping in my arms every night for almost a year.

You are a very engaging speaker. I studied Nodding’s care ethics at the graduate level and I find your short presentation to be both informative and compelling. One of the best talks I’ve seen on YouTube on this topic. Thank you!

Just watched & proud of the extended discussion on care ethics with an excellent reference to Peter Singer!
