Multi-million dollar illegal firework show - Waipahu, Hawaii New Years Eve Fireworks 2023

A glimpse at the most epic (and illegal) aerial firework show. Filmed in Waipahu, Hawaii on the island of Oahu, on New Year’s Eve 2023. This was an unofficial competition between Waipahu and the neighboring town, Ewa, for the best firework display. Check out the island light up on both sides of the bridge. Truly a spectacle!

Something similar happened in the Netherlands where some major cities banned all use of fireworks (it's a tradition here) so they retaliated by lighting the most fireworks in history, we need more activism like this, f- governments that are trying to take away the small joys of life such as the art of fireworks.

Would love to witness this fireworks spectacular in person. Never in my 56 years have I ever seen anything like this. The people of Hawaii didn't ring in the new year. They literally lit it on fire!

That was a major middle finger to the authorities who banned the use of aerial fireworks (if I understood people saying it’s illegal)
As a pyro lover, this is definitely a thing of beauty! And as someone else posted here, “HOW HAS THIS NOT GONE VIRAL”!

In my area in California there’s a few fireworks every year and cops driving around stopping them all the time … but NEVER like this. My sister keeps telling me to come visit her in Hawaii for New Years and I think I really need to actually come next time lol
