Brexit is going to have a major impact on the UK and EU relationship, but that doesn't mean it won't affect other countries too. In this video, we discuss the ways in which Brexit will affect the United States, the trade deals they could form with the UK post Brexit and what US leaders think of the whole thing.

Freedom of movement between the UK and US? Not even Canada has it. Do you really think you can have a better deal that Canada? They are the best of neighbours and even they have to follow immigration laws, there are special easier laws for Canadians and vice versa, but it's not freedom of movement.

How will Brexit affect the different Commonwealth countries? Especially those as far southeast as Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand

The UK is going to have a rude awakening once it realizes it is not the global economic powerhouse it once was. It's still pretty strong but being in the top 3 with the EU is different than being in the top 15 of the world....

Being Bulgarian myself I found out the comment in the middle about Bulgaria losing by the US by a whisker cute in terms of romanticising haha
Now seriously, it's obvious that the UK and the US have different objectives on trade and therefore the UK will be in a more-dependent position than it was with the EU with the US being 2 times larger of an economy... That being said, I hope this won't turn out to isolate UK from the world, despite some brits wanting that without facing the consequences, i.e. Brexit itself

As someone that lives in the U.S, I gag at the idea of the U.K. lowering its food safety to American standards. If nothing else matters to you, the health and well-being of your people should be your top priority.

Great video. It's about time someone produced an honest, objective and impartial explanation of things as traditional media and news outlets fail miserably at this. Fantastic job! Keep it up.

The US thinks having to make champagne in Champagne and Parma ham in Parma is stupid... Then it would be just sparkling wine and ham wouldn't it?

IDK how you measure "size of the economy", but according to the World Bank in 2017, UK has GDP of $2.6 tn and us of $19.4 tn. Which is ~10x, not 2x.

I remember going to New York on my 21st - the US dollar was nearly $2.20 to the GBP. I also remember when the Euro was introduced and going to France. Think that was over 2 Euros to the pound.
Compare that to this year, when I visit Italy, & Germany. Never have I felt the pinch and the cost more abruptly - I realise how much spending power the UK has had in the past. Even Berlin was expensive compared to when I last went in 2015.
If its this stark for mere consumers buying abroad, I can only think of the woes of commercial trade and production are currently having. The future looks a little bleak in that regard. Guess the only upside is that the lower value of GBP will increase tourism to London / places of interest

Move to the USA? Well, you're welcome here as far as I'm concerned, but god help you if you get sick. You'd be better off in Bulgaria.

As someone with dual Irish-British citizenship, would the US-UK deal essentially mean I could freely move from Europe to the UK to the US whenever I pleased ?

So in other words, UK ditched being an influential and privileged EU member for being the non-voting 51st state, AKA Puerto Rico. Extra LOLs if they end adopting the USD.

I suggest Britain to join either South American or African union. Maybe they can get a cake deal finally.
