But, for people to look at the IA world vs a role direct for a carrier, say State Farm. So, at State
They base the workweek off of 38.75 hours.
Per diem, it is a convenient thing and adds up.
Covering hotel, vehicle, transportation, fuel, computer, phone, Xact,
Health benefits and other benefits.
For those looking at the IA vs the staff adjuster world, make sure to account for all the variables. The IA world is becoming more and more challenging in my opinion.
Also, carriers such as State Farm, are doing substantial hiring to specially reduce the use of IA's.
I started adjusting in '07 and have worked direct staff as well as IA.

Cat pay while deployed;
per diem (tax-free)
Health Care;
Vehicle and fuel paid for;
Hotel paid for;
Xactimate paid for;
More work and experience than independent;
