Notion is grossly lacking on sharing database records. You cannot share only a subset of records with someone. You have to share everything. Say that you have a resource database, and you want to share with a client the resources allocated to that client. You have to allow reading to the whole database, including resources allocated to other clients, which may be very inappropriate. There is a bizantine workaround, which entails locking views and not allowing guests to set up anything, but it's a massive data privacy accident waiting to happen. Very very underwhelming.

Hello, the property "person" is linked to members and guests, but what if I'd like to add a person that I don't want to share permission with, like a third party for example? Or someone of whom I don't own their email contact? Thanks for clarifying.

Hi, all the videos describe adding a guest (which we can do based on our plan), but the option isn't available...does anyone know how to resolve this?

The real question is how permissiosn interact with database views and records. It's all well and good to have a flat wiki-page shared with a guest, but what happens if it has a view of entries for a database I might not want them o have full run of?

I've been trying to share a page with multiple groups with a guest. Their view of the page does not show all the groups. No matter where I place the page in my account, their view will not display the groups that show on my view. Do you know why?

HI, So theres this issue that I have been facing for a while now. I've been trying to export my notion page in pdf form Which I can on my desktop but unable to do so in notion app. I keep getting an error called access denied.Even tho I am using the same account on my desktop application as well my app on my phone. Pls help I have been stuck for while unable to find a solution.

I do create a private link so they'd just be able to read the data inside. But it does ask them to log in. when it didn't before

It’s unimaginable that this issue has been raised for over five years, yet Notion still hasn’t addressed such a crucial problem... It’s as absurd as having a fully functional house but with a front door that can’t be locked.

When I have a database managing projects for nearly a hundred clients and want to share it with clients and colleagues, I can’t restrict clients to view only the projects relevant to them, nor can I hide confidential properties such as project costs. If this one issue were resolved, Notion could replace basic ERP on the market. But as it stands, we are forced to create countless duplicate databases due to this design flaw, which severely impacts our work efficiency. My colleagues and I are now considering moving away from Notion altogether.
