Unrealistic: there's one sane person in the room.

I like the tea appreciation moment. Cardamon and clove is nice

The Italian Forum in Leichhardt is a perfect example windswept concrete square and wind tunnel .

Dangerously close to what happened to King George Square in Brisbane. It's a windswept concrete square!

Australia needs building inspectors with the courage to say "Sorry mate, this is not good enough. We are going to do a thorough inspection in 1 months time and if it fails then we are tearing it down at your expense."

"Yes men" like Jim are the scourge of any organization but sadly they are preferred for their "yes men" like qualities.

Anyone know where we can watch this outsode of Australia?

We could build outward, but then our infrastructure such as transport and internet do not support it, then there is the problem of lower profit for developers...so the gov bend over to the developers to go upward

As a developer, this scene is why there isn't more housing. If you want more units on the market while restricting suburban sprawl, then you have to accept density increasing. If you refuse to increase density then you can't build enough units to meet demand and prices increase. So pick one and own it.

And let’s talk about building 30/50/90 storeys on a floodplain as our (current only) BCC and State Govt (current only) plan to do in Brisbane. Jeeez!!!

What a funny show. Such a shame that I could not understand what are they talking without a closed caption. What language is that? Australian?

Do people actually want to live in towers?

absolutely love this. as a developer, we always want to go higher, especially at a waterfront place where market demand will always be there. Windswept concrete - even better because the costing is low and construction is fairly straightforward. We're not gonna care if we block another low rise building's view - could've built higher when you could.

Get them to convert those supposedly empty office towers into residential. Problem (not really) solved.

I swear to God he’s going to kill Jim in the last episode.

I hope.

I always thought it would be a good public works project to renovate one of the abandoned malls into a dense housing complex. Could hire local unemployed to work. Get training and employment and maybe a reasonably priced appartment.

I propose a new Habitat 67, with funky colours. Got everything a home buyer, politian, and developer wants. Want a backyard? It's got that. Want to save on infrastructure cost? Check. Want to cut costs and still make profit? Pre-fab units stacked on each other, made in a factory, not buy shonky tradies. Boom!

the big problem is more people than we want. how you stack them is marginal.

I would laugh if it wasn't so true.😑
