I started saving all of my nickels I got in the wild for the past 3 years. I remember the short period the nickel market exploded and they were worth almost double lol. I started saving my copper pennies at the same time. I hunt boxes of pennies now, haven't started boxes of nickels yet

The blackened 1959 is coin that is worth more but can't remember what is called.

Why do you keep 1959? And older didn't the silver end in the Forty's. I have had tellers say they check them and pull out the good stuff

I found my first V nickel the other week it is a 1907 and about 6 buffaloes. But so far I have found 22 silver nickels! Better luck finding silver on your next box.

The 2005 are the only year with that obverse pose of Jefferson.

It would be quicker and EASIER to just go online and purchase war nickels, which are mostly silver. Unless you have too much free time and/or don't value your time, sorting through a box(es) of nickels is not a productive activity, plus you get all that black nickel on your fingers.
