Excel Pro Trick: Find Top N and Bottom N Values in Excel using FILTER Function in Excel Formula

Learn how to get top n or bottom n values e.g. top 3, 5 or bottom 3, 5 values in Excel data range using a simple Excel formula. The benefit of Excel formula approach is that output is dynamic i.e. if source data changes, then output filtered list will update automatically to get the appropriate result.

In this Excel tutorial, we learn how to use Excel FILTER Function in Excel formula to fetch top 3, 5 or 10 values from the data range dynamically. Similarly, if you are interested in bottom 3, 5 and 10 values from the data range, FILTER function can help us.

Before FILTER Function, we only had one way to filter data using Filter tool. Or we had to use complex lookup formulas. Not anymore!
