Over 400 arrested in UK riots as violence continues for seventh day
Показать описание
More than 400 people have now been arrested in the wake of disorder around the country, according to police sources, with the number expected to continue to rise in the coming days.
A peaceful vigil was held in Southport last night to commemorate Bebe King, Elsie Dot Stancombe and Alice Dasilva Aguiar, a week after they were tragically killed.
But as this was happening, rioting continued for a seventh day as 'sustained violence' broke out in Plymouth.
Bricks and fireworks were launched towards officers who had attempted to keep rival demonstrations apart in the city.
Shops in Salford Precinct are closed this afternoon amid reports of planned 'protests'.
All entrances to the shopping centre are shut this afternoon. Shops, including the Aldi supermarket, have their shutters down.
This comes amid reports on social media of people gathering at the precinct from 1pm today (August 6), with fears of a potential disorder.
