I created a 1/2 sleeve on paper with an artist that was focused around my family and cultural symbols. Completely original piece. I then put it in my safe and said "if I still want it in 3 years, ill get it". 3 years passed and I didn't think it would be a good idea since I'm in education. I decided to frame it and post it on the wall. Great piece of art.

*Tattoos are great but PERMANENT*, my Mom told me *NEVER put any your neck or go past your forearms or knees* for career and jobs purposes and make sure *the tattoo has real important meaning for inspiration, symbolism, or encouragement* because you will get older and have to live with it.

I got 2 tattoos and planning on getting 4 more (upper left shoulder & back) *a Tribal Birth Sign (back), an inspirational quote or statement, and 2 each in memory of my Mom and Pops who passed RIP B. Barnes & Phil Lee*

I've studied and researched on a tattoo that I'd might want in the future but for now I rather stay ink free and Jeff is right, don't get a tattoo just to get one.

Very good points brother. As a man with more than a few tatts, but I can cover them all with a long sleeve shirt. I made one of these mistakes (not knowing how good the artist was) and got some inferior work. I ended up getting it done over and it hurt way more than the first time. Listen up youngsters this man is dropping jewels.

If it has deep meaning and you actually consider it "art" by all means. If it's a tattoo, it's very, very simple, DON'T. There is a fine line between art (w/deep meaning) and a tattoo. I have spoke to many, many folks about this and all agree.

I only have 2 tattoos, and not plan on getting others. One It's a celtic style gryffin, done by a friend on mine, I've known her since we were kids, and that was a gift for my 18th birthday, something to remember her by when I eventually would go on to join the French Foreign Legion. Looking at that tattoo, thinking about what it meant and knowing she was back home praying for my safety helped me a lot during hard times while in the service. The second tattoo I got done with a few guys from my unit, we got the skull with the legion beret and "marche ou creve", march or die, around it. and that too has meaning. Granted, I was 19 and full of piss and vinegar, but at the time I loved that connection between us, and I'll do it again nowdays. That tattoo brings back the memories of my unit, some of those guys are no longer here, and that tattoo is my way of honouring our past together.

This is a real familiar phrase to some, but for anybody who needs to hear it -- Good tattoos aren't cheap, and cheap tattoos aren't good.

Thats a nice Polo shirt... . Its always a priority to be able to cover my tattoos... I want to have a professional look when I'm in a work environment. You made a great point on the location of tattoos. The neck, face, and hand tattoos aren't the best places to get a tattoo... Take your time when selecting your tattoo... Remember this is a permanent decision. Great content 👌... Salute...
