LAUNCHING ALONE.
This is how I launch my boat when I’m alone.

LAUNCH AT YOUR OWN RISK! MAKE SURE YOUR OUTBOARD OR OUTDRIVE IS OVER THE WATER BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT SAFETY CHAINS!

Check with your dealer for exact launching directions for YOUR BOAT. THIS METHOD IS FOR MY BOAT and is not the best method for EVERY boat. I HAVE A BUNK TRAILER.

IF YOU HAVE A ROLLER STYLE TRAILER YOUR BOAT CAN ROLL OFF THE TRAILER AT ANY TIME!!

Please be safe on the water and leave a few fish for me!

Ok some guy takes the time to make a video to help people having a problem and a bunch of others criticise it or say ah hell that's nothing try it with wind what about anything they can think of to try to validate themselves by tearing someone else down. To anybody who is worried about or has trouble with boat launching: It's easy. Don't let people intimidate you. It takes practice that's all. That guy making fun of you or listing all your mistakes. He made them too maybe even worse. If you don't make mistakes you won't know what not to do. Videos like this help but you have to get out there and do it. Have fun, be careful. Been launching and retrieving boats alone for 40yrs. This video could be very helpful to a lot of people. I watched because you can always learn if you're willing. I do things a little different but it's not that my way is better, just different. And I can and have launched in wind, rain, current, around a bunch of yayhoos that started drinking as soon as they got up and for some reason think I'm interested in their opinion.

My dad had some boats when I was a kid and he was miserable to watch, he would yell and cuss and make a show of himself. I learned all about what not to do. I can launch my 23’ center console with ease and never say a word. My kids and wife wait on the dock while I back the boat in and I throw them a dock line and slide the boat off and go park. I have never had a issue and my kids love boating. I hated it as a kid. Nice Sea Pro by the way

Great technique in a perfect world with calm conditions, no impatient boat owners lined up behind you waiting to put their boats in and no other boats tied up to the wharf.

I'm 71 years old and this video was a godsend! Thanks much!

A piece of helpful advice for people considering this method is to run the line back to the guidepost then back up to the bow of the boat so it’s already on the inside of it and then just lay it on to the dock and you don’t have to try and flip it over

Thank you for the video. Nice to have a long dock and dead flat conditions. I launch with the bow line tied to the trailer and once the boat floats off I play jungle gym on the trailer to not get wet, grab the line and tie it to a bush/tree/stump until I park the truck.

bravo -- I turn the motor to make it move toward the dock and park itself . you can also turn the motor to make it get away from dock as it moves backward.. I subed on sonar info

That must be nice having a boat ramp all to yourself!

Dang how very been doing it wrong for 50 years. I tie up to the trailer then walk out on dock and tie bow and stern lines to keep it from flipping around against the dock and hitting other boats.

Interesting vid mate. I've used a variation where the bow line is tied to the trailer winch post instead, which reduces the number of times you need to get in/out of the vehicle. But nothing wrong with this method, especially for larger boats with greater forces in play

I watched about 15 volt launching techniques and I got to say you got about one of the best ones good job

I do the same thing you do with the dock lines - only I back my boat down into the water until almost deep enough to float off (and close enough to some cleats) - then use two short dock lines (one in front and on in the rear) to tie off - then I back in until the boat floats off the trailer.  Boat is  securely tied (with both lines) to the dock while I go park the tow vehicle.  Shorter ropes are used because the dock is very tight - not open spaced like yours.

I launch a large 20 footer solo. It's not all that different. The key to success is picking the right dock. Protected water is gold.

I use a bow and stern
We have a good current on the Hudson, two ropes keeps the boat in place...

Good idea to tie the line first THEN push the boat out. Trying that next launch. Thanks you !!!!

I do this every time i launch my boat exceot i ckil the rope and put it the bed of my truck and loop it on a cleat. Back it in grab the rope and walk on the dock and tie it up.
Everytime i do it i get comments from all the "watchers" knows what hes doing...these other people struggle with. 2 helpers". They chuckle.

My challenge is that I back in, 500 feet FROM the nearest dock. THAT is a different challenge IF I am alone. Doable, but a much bigger problem. I have to back it in, climb into the truck bed, "walk the plank" to the boat--which is MUST higher than yours, climb up and into the boat, then back it out, drive it to the dock, side tie, walk back to the truck and go park it. With an injured leg like I have, the only other option is to wade into the water, mount the boat from the back at the swim step ladder, and now soaked, drive the boat to the dock. THAT is actually much safer than walking the plank as I described and climbing way up and over the bow. Wet, but safe. And easy, with dry clothes in my cabin, but when I bring her back in, I have to reverse the process. So much easier with two.

Easier way is hook one end of line to the eyelid used to wench the boat on, be sure your line is at least 5 foot longer than your trailer, hook the other end of the line to the part of the trailer that has your wench on, (you may need to install an eye bolt on ), place your line on the boat coiled up a bit, back up your boat far enough so it floats off the trailer, pull ahead slowly and far enough so you can unsnap the line from the trailer, NO GETTING IN OND OUT several times, bring your line to dock and tie off. It's a very easy and fast process using less line .

That works when the dock is close. At my ramp, the dock is a thousand yards from the put in and the bow of my boat is really high, so I can't clamber over the rail to get in. The only way I can self launch from there, is to have a custom weld job on the trailer frame so I can walk up the stairs and board that way, but fact is, I NEVER boat alone, so it's OK
