We love to see someone spreading the word on these combos. Truly amazing what can come out of these cropped bodies these days, fantastic video Jason, and keep up the great work!

Just added a Sigma FF 24-70 Art lens to my Sony a6600 body. Photos are really outstanding. Only real drawback is the lens is a heavy beast, and I added a grip/battery extension to the body to help with grip and balance. Now it's all the same size and weight of a full size camera, but the difference is I can go back and forth between small/compact for say travel, etc, or larger as needed.

I started buying full frame lenses despite using a Sony A6000 at the time as I started to know I enjoy photography and will continue to do so. My first combo was with the Zeiss 55f1.8, it was great. Just needed to consider the crop factor.

I’ve got 3 full frame lenses…

100-400 sigma
75mm Samyang
24mm Tamron

I wanted a long zoom, and that’s why I got.

I wanted a telephoto prime, and I was torn between the Samyang 85 and 75. In the end I decided that while I wanted more reach the 115mm length would be more versatile and I was def right.

The 24mm I got because I wanted a 35mm equiv despite having a 16 and a 30mm lens it’s actually now my favourite carry around lens.

Many photographers use a 70-200 f 2.8 lens, it is one of the most common full frame lens used on a APSC camera. During the years I photographed events, most of the time I used a Pentax K1 MKII along with a K3 model APSC, some of the glass I had was for APSC but the bulk were full frame, many of witch i used on the k3 instead of using the crop on the k1

I use to do commercial work with a pair of a6000s with a sigma 28mm f1.4 and a Rokinon 85mm f1.4. My clients love the results.

FF lenses on crop sensors used to be bad in the DSLR era when the image quality of them is not good enough for high megapixel sensors, or even 20mpx FF ones. But with mirrorless lenses, it is totally fine doing that.

EXACTLY! Couldn’t have explained it better. All those reviews that point out the inevitable short comings of the corners lead me to choose full frame glass. And if I every go FF… I have the a6400 with the Sony 24-105mmG and love the combination. Next glass will be FE PZ 16-35mm F4 G. I also have the Sigma 16mm F/1.4 prime. Very capable lens. Of course, there’s the crop factor to consider. It has always helped me on the long end, but sometimes I’ll need to switch to the Sigma 16mm. And that’s one of the reasons I’m getting the FE PZ 16-35mm.

I think a major pro and con missing is the camera crop factor. I love using my 70-200 on my a6500 because I can get that extra reach. It is tough on the wide end of something like a 24–70, because that focal range is clearly designed for a full frame camera.

I always tuck an APS-C body in my bag, even though I shoot full-frame. An APS-C body's crop factor lets it function very much like a 1.5x teleconverter, only it works with all of my lenses, not just my teles.

My basic kit: A7III and A6600 bodies. Sigma 24mm f/1.4 DG DN Art lens, Samyang 45mm f/1.8, and Sony FE 85mm f/1.8. The APS-C body's crop factor lets me fill in the gaps with 36mm, 67.5mm, and 127.5 mm. And the whole kit fits in a 12"x8"x8" shoulder bag, with plenty of room for spare batteries, filters, a Lume Cube Mini, and other assorted accessories.
