I actually found that’s not always the case. I had two rather badly warped records and put them flat under other flat records….warps removed (and in one case, the severe deep dishing was also handled).

The temperature of your room is also a factor. I had a record for a long time that I kept in a kitchen cabinet (I forgot it) and it slightly warped, its still a great record and plays perfectly but just fyi lol. It was free from a bin outside the store so I wasn't too upset about it

You can put them on top on each other not just standing ok remember after they are completed on a pressing factory the records are put on top of each other on the long spindle and if you don't enough space you can put them on top of each other ok✔️✔️

Put the records in the places and they're just stacked on top of each other
I don't think much happened to them
But I'm still very mad if someone stacks them, also maybe the covers will get worn out and get the big circle from the record on the cover
