US troops have withdrawn from the West African nation of Niger. On Monday, they handed over Air Base 201 to the Nigerien military. The US built this drone base at a cost of $100 Million. But Niger cancelled its defence pact with the US after the military took over the country last year. Niger is now partnering up with Russia to combat terrorists in the Sahel.
