CDPR FINALLY Breaks Their Silence on The Witcher 3's New Update

Today we take a look at The Witcher 3 next-gen. CD Projekt Red has finally given us a first look and update on the incoming next gen update for The Witcher 3.

People are crazy! This is above and beyond what most studios do with similar ports. Some studios release an older game with minimal upgrades and call it a "remaster" or whatever and charge full price for it. The Witcher 3 is almost universally adored and nearly everyone already owns it so this is just a nice package of visual and quality of life goodies to put the cherry on top of an already impressive cake. I think it's awesome and hopefully Fallout 4's update is even half as cool. Better than fishing in Skyrim.

The update looks fantastic, especially for console players. Not sure what some people expected. Some of the QoL improvements alone are game-changers.

camera change almost sounds like the enhanced camera mod id use, and fast casting spells is so game changing I can't wait to replay this masterpiece.

Even the current version holds up very well today. Started another playthrough recently, just now hearing about the update and am pleasantly surprised.

Been waiting on this for awhile cyperpunk was good but the Witcher 3 is one of my favorite games of all time. Its one of those games that I didn’t want to end so i did as much as i could and it took me 200 hours to get through it and the expansions. Still a great looking game can’t believe it’s almost 8 years old.

that "illuminated" effect at 2:41 is called atmospheric perspective, an effect where objects at a distance are slightly obscured by the atmosphere or other particles in the air such as dust, and therefore, appear lighter. it actually makes the current version of the game look better and more realistic. I don't see why they removed that effect.

I think adding the tv show content is a mistake especially with all the recent stuff about the show happening. even tough people were saying it for years. what i do hope is that they revive Yorveth and Saskia quest. That was a mistake to exclude those characters in the first place.

A lot of people don't even understand the difference between quantity and quality. I wouldn't pay any attention to those complaining about this update. A lot of these "newcomers" haven't been there since day one. Just from what I've seen so far, I can tell they've made worthy quality of life changes that actually makes sense to do. I'd even go as far to saying this is a legitimate remaster that goes beyond just a new coat of paint. What I really want to see is the new detailed weather system and even the rain in Skellige!

If you own a good 4K tv you’ll definitely notice a big visual upgrade. The FSR2 update they made on Cyberpunk on series X was seriously impressive!

One of the best new features for me as an old fan with 200+ hours in gog version is the ability to import that save on my new xbox

It is AMAZING that they are giving away this update for FREE... guys, none of this is CHEAP. There is a lot of hours of manpower going into this spectacular update, and for them to give it away for free... it's FAN SERVICE in caps!

At first I didn't see much difference with the current version, then I remembered that I always use the HD reworked mod (which they included in the update) and a reshade

Witcher 3 is one on my favorite games ever!
I started replaying it late last year and then stopped once I heard there was going to be a next-gen update, so I've been waiting for this forever haha

The amount of detail that was added to the next-gen version is beyond some player's comprehension. In the trailer that was shown today I thought the mountains in the background were a photo of real mountains made as a skybox. I was stunned. The tree details and foliage details are cranked through the roof. The LoD on pretty much everything has been upgraded drastically. I am so impressed.

The only thing I don't like is it's most likely going to kill mods from the nexus.

Hope it runs on my steam deck post update :) With FSR 2.1 should be nice. Photomode on cyberpunk is buggy on deck hopefully the new one in Witcher 3 does well.
