"Do you want your students to succeed?" I hate that line and have heard it so much. Attempting to weaponize someone's own empathy against them.

As a guy it’s fine to find your teacher attractive. But if you can’t focus because of that, then you need to mature up.

No! That’s disgusting and completely unfair. Why do people think that’s okay?

A boy can't focus because a woman is attractive! Oh no it's almost like learning to control impulses and not be distracted is part of growing up.

Schools and administration can be so sexist and inconsiderate. "Let's tell our teachers how to live their lives because it's "our" problem if a student can't concentrate in class. But not so much that we want to provide extra tutoring or pay our teachers more so they can make more engaging lessons"

Its like they think that if they're asking on the behalf of a child, they'll get anything. Like no!!!

1: “You’re too pretty, make yourself look dowdy because your students are distracted.”
2: “You’re too dowdy, make yourself look attractive because your students are distracted.”
The vicious circle of bureaucracy gone anal.

I had a few teachers I thought were very attractive, middle school, high school, and now in college, but it was never distracting. If it’s distracting that’s on the kid, not the teacher.

This happened to that one teacher that went viral for being super attractive, who I believe taught prepubescent kids anyways.. Everyone blamed her, called her awful things, and it was/is absolutely sickening how the internet reacted

An overwhelming amount of people wanted her fired.. Meanwhile, she was always covered, just had a figure and sometimes wore form-fitting clothes that if others had worn, they wouldn’t have gotten the same backlash or at least not nearly as much

It was so sad to watch

I’m sorry this happened to you, it’s not fair..

Similar things have happened to me throughout my life due to my chest.. Things that my peers can wear without issue from others, suddenly are an issue when I wear then.. All of a sudden, there’s a “no tank top” rule.. That exact thing happened when I was a patient somewhere recently.. a few of us were wearing thick strapped tank tops on a very hot day, but I was the only one told to change.. It’s funny to see the reactions sometimes after I change, because a lot of the time, my chest looks even bigger when it’s completely covered 😂😂

Sound like mom needed to get her son into therapy or having "the talk" with him. It speaks to a whole other issue regarding women being hypercritical of other women.

Yeah, because instead of telling the boys “Hey, don’t look at your teacher weirdly.” Just tell girls to adjust themselves to what the boys need.

As I guy, let me just say that finding a teacher attractive doesn't really do much to distract you from the lesson.

Not unless you're trying really hard to focus only on the teacher's figure.

If guys don't learn to control themselves early on and things get adjusted for them, they will continue to need those adjustments way beyond the time when their unadjusted behaviour may already be getting them into trouble.

Honestly, when I was a kid, I had a crush on one of my teachers, (I still see him around and he's still very cute lol) and it wasn't as much a distraction as much as it was a motivation to impress him and do well and behave. I liked him because he was cute, but I also respected him, as a great teacher. Idk maybe not everyone felt that way, but I sure did lol

It’s amazing that they thought this would be a reasonable solution as opposed to teaching a young boy to focus on his work. Is his mom going to call his boss in the future and make his female coworkers change their appearances lol

I've had a few professors at uni that I've found quite attractive - not once did it detract from my learning (if anything I probably paid more attention lol). It shouldn't be on the teacher/person to make themself "less attractive", self control is all it takes!

I would just be like, "Since when do you control what I do and do not wear?!"

Okay, here's the thing. I have found that many, many schools have a problem with being sexist. Apparently it's always the girl's fault for having a boy be too distracted by them. Like, honestly, who tf gets distracted by shoulders and knees?! If there is someone out there who is getting distracted like that, then they need to be disciplined, not the person that is apparently distracting. (Unless it is purposeful)
Good grief, the world is awful.

Teach those boys how to function better.
