Problem: Photoshop can't save a file because the "disk is full"
Solution: Save to a different path, a different partition, or folder

Adobe Photoshop 7

This is not a "simple" or acceptable solution in my opinion. People install additional hard-drives to obtain more storage space that they are not willing to sacrifice on other/possibly full drives. If I have an empty 4 TB HD installed, I should damn well be able to save a 10mb file to it without an issue. Infuriating.

This is a work-around, not a solution...

Partition the hard drive to a smaller size of less than 500gb and Photoshop 7 won't view it as full. Search how to Partition the hard drive.

Everyone already knew that. This is a waste of time video. He just works around the problem. Problem not solved here.

Thank you. I got a 20TB external hard drive and Photoshop won't save to it. However, it will save to the C: drive so I save there and move the files to the external later. Frustrating it won't save directly to the external drive, though.

This does not work. Every disk is 'full' on my PC. They are not full.

It's because Photoshop 7 thinks drives with more than 1TB free space are full. It's a bug. So you save to a new drive with less than 1TB free space or create a smaller partition. But you already knew that AND made a video about it titled "Photoshop 7 Save Error". You should link your older video here in the description.

Here's the answer everyone has been looking for. After many attempts, I came across this workaround:

1. Right-click on your Desktop.

2. New/Shortcut

3. Browse to the target folder where you want to save the file. Not IN the folder, but one level above.

4. Click once on the folder. As in, say, the folder Pictures or My Pictures.

5. Create the shortcut, then move it to the Desktop.

6. When saving your file in Photoshop or PE, navigate to the target folder by clicking the Desktop/Pictures shortcut.

7. If other folders are underneath Pictures, then open the desired folder.

8. Save the file. Should be successfully saved to the folder!

9. Be happy that someone actually found a cure for the erroneous error message about the disk being full.

10. You are welcome. Enjoy!

Found a solution: Save as .PSD not .PDF
