I remember watching this when it was broadcast live for the awards ceremony. It was absolutely breathtaking. I mean, country artists tend to give more respect and nods toward Christianity than any other secular genre but Dolly, unsurprisingly perhaps, really does take you to Church in this telling of the Gospel story.

Hey Britt, This is known as a "Resurrection Sunday" song that gets sung and performed on Easter Sundays and for church plays during "Holy Week" or "Passion Week, " but I'm of the opinion & persuasion that it should always be sung without it needing to be a "special occasion" because just as this song declares: He (Jesus) is Alive!!!
