Wish I had realized just how much fun we had in the 80s while still in the 80s

Susanna Hoffs...the girl who sang the last verse...there's probably not a man alive, at that time, who wasn't crushing on her, just from this one music video.
I graduated high school in '83... so I was kind of a split between being a 70s kid and an 80s kid. I was a hard rock/heavy metal kid...but I secretly loved the Bangles, The Go-Gos and Bananrama. Mostly because they were all-girl groups. But also because their songs were super catchy. And that look, at the end of this video... Susanna Hoff's eyes... as she's singing "Walk like an Egyptian..." those eyes dug their hooks into boy's and men's hearts like she was on a deep sea fishing expedition, and reeling us in! 😊

"Walk Like An Egyptian" is such a fun quirky song. This all girl pop rock band had a lot of hits in the 80's such as "Manic Monday", "Hazy Shade Of Winter", "In Your Room", "Eternal Flame", "Following", "Walking Down Your Street", "If She Knew What She Wants" etc.

For those who think The Bangles were just another girl group of the time check out some of their live performances decades later (Manic Monday is a good one). The skills and voices are even better. I was in college when this song came out. Like many other guys, we all immediately had a crush on Susanna Hoff. Apparently so did Prince who wrote Manic Monday their other hit for her to sing.

They were so cool that Prince even wrote them the song Manic Monday! Everyone was walking like an Egyptian when this came out. Doubt it would be offensive because it was basically about ancient Egyptians. Thanks Britt!

Loved 80s girl groups like the Go Gos, Bananarama and the Bangles. They all had such great songs. We don't really see girl groups anymore like them.
