The cutting surface is designed to guide the wire toward the pivot point for greater leverage. That's why it cuts, "easier". It's a well engineered tool.

They make the same tool but it has 10-20AWG strippers. Absolutely love mine! They cut anything

Knipex is one of my very favorite brands in tools. Their stuff is worth every penny. Honestly, German hand tools are among the best out there. Yes their stuff is a little expensive, but it is meant to last a lifetime. I've never had a single issue with one of their tools. I'm gonna take shit for this...But I'd take Knipex over snap-on any day.

IMHO I believe the Milwaukee 9 in. 7-in-1 High Leverage Combination Pliers are better. It features wide jaw pliers, a reamer, a similar rounded wire cutter, wire stripper (8-20 gauge), bolt cutter, loop maker and crimper. A much better value at $20. Have you tried that tool? Thanks for sharing the video!

I had the Knipex 13 72 8 which just has more strippers (better for trim work imo). But, it's $50-60 depending on where you get it and I can get two milwaukee 48-22-3078-7 7in1 combination pliers for the price of one knipex. They cut the same, the Knipex struggles with anything over 8/2 while these milwaukee ones have much larger blades. The round bypass blades on the Knipex SEEM to grab things when cutting better but I don't know if thats true. While I do like the Knipex ones, my coworkers always notice when I get a new Knipex tool but thats all they say "hey knipex, nice". But when I pulled out my milwaukee 7in1, they actually want to look at it. I think that also says a lot. The only thing the Knipex has over the milwaukee 7in1 is the locking mechanism.

I have the Klein multi-tool pliers with the grey and black handles. Although they are "ok", it looks like those Knipex would be far more useful. 👍
