Meet your new best friend: the Knipex 13 76 200 ME KNIPEX Wire Stripper.

This tool is a game-changer, the hybrid design offers great balance, it is as flat as needle-nose pliers for accessibility and as wide as combination pliers for stability. You can trust it to handle a wide range of wire sizes with ease, it can even be used for deburring pipes!

It features precisely ground stripping profiles for solid conductors from 0.75 - 6 mm² and fine-stranded conductors from 0.5 - 4 mm².

I am waiting for the Rev2 of the 7 in 1 plier. It will have a notch for striping 4 and 6mm CSA conductors.

Screwing multi-stranded wires without crimping it with solid terminals is... disturbing. Besides, there is a crimper in a toolbag.

i use the same strip extra, twist, and fold back on alot of light fixtures where i am wire nutting stranded #16 to solid #12. it helps to make sure the stranded and solid wires are making good contact.

That’s why I carry the Knipex 97 21 215B crimping pliers.

It's good to see that even over there, the cover panel holes don't exactly line up with the nutcerts.

Man here in the States we would never fold our terminations over like that. We would be called hacks

Love these. They can even do 25mm tails at a push. Does crush though but 16mm it’s a clean cut.
Best regards,
Scott Liddle.

P. S. Yes please as the trainee mentioned please list all tools for the trainees as that would give a much better idea of what’s needed. And no it’s doesn’t all need to Knipex but I agree Knipex are the best tools I’ve used in electrical and plumbing DiY as I ain’t no pro plumber 😂😂😂

Try cutting the outer sheath off flush to the the entry point of a back box 👀 they’re too long to get in a single or a double box and the shears part is too far back on the pliers 🫣

I prefer to crimp a square ferrule onto any stranded conductor going into a screw clamp terminal that carries current, but even the twist and foldback method you use is much better than just poking a raw stranded wire into a clamp., Both mechanically and electrically strong connections are needed to prevent future fires. Great content by the way.

Surprising most screw spe are for between 3 and 4 NM. I’d have said folding over increases the contact area to reduce contact resistance and give a bit more metal to absorb any heat.
