China to begin military exercises in Taiwanese territory

Chinese warships are sailing into positions around Taiwan, ahead of four days of live-fire exercises.

The actions being taken by Beijing are thought to be caused by US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to the island, who praised it for having “one of the freest societies in the world”.

The Taiwan Defence Ministry says China has broken UN rules and it would counter any incursions into its territory.

In America's tone: this is just normally military drill, Taiwan has no reasons to be offended, and if Taiwan takes any counter measure, it's totally Taiwan's fault for raising regional tensions.

I’m from Chinese American originated from Taiwan. Came here to US When I was a little girl. I’m not 47 and still with a few family members in Taiwan. To me, i am Chinese and whether anyones from China or Taiwan, I consider them all Chinese. No difference.

China is patient ... 100 years view. They will take Taiwan especially to obtain a stranglehold on the semiconductor industry. There will be no "Accidental" exchange of shots being fired.

I think at this point Taiwan was not even spending 4% on defense, they knew it was coming but without help it’s to late. Taiwan can survive a few waves but China can send 20 waves and lose 100, 000 troops
