Please please please do a taste test to see the difference sparkling water that come in plastic or glass or aluminum cans. I have stopped drinking sparkling water that comes in plastic bottles because I am convinced the plastic completely changes the taste.

I'm not surprised about the packets being better: the packets are opaque, don't have enough air for spoilage, and are sometimes made with mylar. What does surprise me is plastic being better than glass, since glass doesn't leech flavors into the food.
