I always loved switching with the GBW Alco's. They moved almost instantly when you asked for a kick, unlike the EMD's that you could say kick and dig a cigarette out of your coat amd light it before the cut of cars would move.

Scranton is possibly the best place for train watching. Seeing Alco's "honorary steam locomotives " as well as real steam ones, is amazing! If when gets bored with any of this watching, there's always the mall to hang out in.

I close my eyes and I could bet sn RSD16 going by with a 7 car commuter train on the San Martin line.

Reminds me of the early days of Conrail. They moved all their big Centuries to the shops at Mingo Junction Ohio to work heavy coal and iron ore trains on the Cleveland and Pittsburgh line, which passed my house on the other side of the Ohio River.

Looks like Delaware-Lackawanna. They really love their Alcos. Even have some incredibly rare century series, the big ones, if I remember correctly.

Thats really neat! I bet that bridge vibrates quite a bit from those alcos. Thanks for sharing!

The way an Alco diesel is supposed to sound.

In the 'moving away' half, is the track off to the right the Electric city trolley line?
