Living in Arizona is quite a unique experience because of the vastness that the state offers. From the Sonoran Desert in the south to the high country in the north all the way up towards the Four Corners east and the Grand Canyon in the west. Known as the Grand Canyon state, Arizona is diverse in many ways. The state tree is the Palo Verde, the state cactus is the Saguaro, the state bird is the Cactus wren. If you are thinking about moving to Arizona feel free to subscribe and check us out on our other channels.

Due to listening to almost every single video that Jeff has ever made- (he helped me immensely in my decision to move to AZ), I have had no surprises. Certainly no bad ones anyway. I started watching his videos in 2019, which lead me to do a 4 day driving tour of the state of AZ with 1 of my sisters. I bought a house there about 14 months later. If you are wondering about anything, go back to his oldest videos & just start watching them all. Since Jeff is mostly positive about AZ, you can also listen to "Living in Arizona" (Sam), who is more negative about AZ, to hear the other side a little bit. None of Sam's "negatives" were super negative to me, so weighing the pros & cons, I made the move & I love Arizona. Arizona is the 5th state that I have lived in so far in my life. Life is an adventure. If you are considering a move, learn as much as you can about what is important to you, visit a few times, & make your decision. Good luck!

The biggest problem I have with the new housing in Tucson is there’s no way I’m paying that much for a home that’s only 3’ from the neighbors. Mobile homes are farther apart than the houses their building now.

AZ has tremendous law enforcement. They are more discreet and try to blend in hidden places to catch speeders and driving under the influence drivers. Big urban cities are used to seeing lots of “marked cars” as a deterrent. In AZ they try really hard to blend in. Believe it when anything goes down law enforcement will show up in pickup trucks - mustangs- work trucks fitted etc in minutes. From everywhere. You’ll be like where did they all come from .

I lived I Arizona for 50 years and loved every minute of it. Now I live in Kansas. As far as I know the reason why we have basements in Kansas is to have an escape from the tornadoes. In Arizona one of our neighbors had a basement. In that neighborhood the caliche was only one foot thick. To my knowledge the water in Arizona was being pumped from over 800 feet down. That’s good news for a basement as it should help it stay dry. In Kansas we have a problem with damp basements because of shallow water tables. Thanks for your channel. I really enjoy it. I like your clean language. Vincent

We are planning on moving out there this summer. Most of these complaints are from people that clearly have not done their homework. Your videos are informative and helpful. Heat, critters, taxes, cost of living, commuting, etc.... We're aware and preparing. The unexpected heat complaint kills me!! I mean really??!!

I love Arizona. We own a lot of land there . The heat gets to much in July and August we are 5800 feet up in the white mountains. Apart from a little heat that gets to much for two months of the year we will never 👎 leave Arizona. Love ❤️ it.

What you need to know is that Arizona is in the midst of a 20 year drought and water shortage. Our water is transported over 300 miles from the Colorado River and is shared by 7 other states and Mexico (some are also experiencing droughts.) They divvied our water rights in a wet year, so there isn't enough for everyone now. To make it worse, we have state legislators and a governor who are weakening our water protections. Rep. Gail Griffen (District 14) is a realtor who chairs the Natural Resources, Energy and Water committee. She initiated several bad bills that weakened water protections so she can profit from development that would destroy the San Pedro River. So, if you are coming to Arizona, please, help us conserve water. Don't put in grass or a pool. Put in a cistern (water barrel) to use rainwater on drought tolerant native trees and plants.

I have seen people from California freak out when they see someone exercising their open-carry right. I tried explaining to them if they think that is scary there is probably 15% of the people in the Safeway we were at are probably carrying concealed

Great video Jeff, so much great information for all of us who at sometime want to move to Arizona. My plan is to move to Arizona and then travel all over the West in a Class-C motorhome and use the home as a base station to launch out from. I grew up in the California desert and love the heat but also love the mountains. Thanks again!!

Actually it's easy to avoid the worst of the triple digit temps by moving to a higher elevation, where it's often 10-15 degrees cooler than the surrounding desert lowlands. Of course the winters can also be a tad bit chillier, but have found that around 3, 000 to 4, 000 ft. elevation tends to be a good 'sweet spot'..

I wish I knew that the rental properties are like flip houses here. Very fly-by-night owners and the owners may even be out of state. Makes it hard to plan long-term for stable rental housing. Never had this problem outside of AZ it has been a shock especially since COVID and the jumping prices and the influx of people.

22:35 Prices are high because too many people are moving to AZ. When Covid hit, a lot of people lost their jobs, and decided to take a chance on moving. Also, more and more people are working from home, thus they don’t feel they have to stay where they are.

Thank u for all of this great info. Spent a month with my sister near Phoenix. Did take note how fast drivers are and how congested traffic is. Enjoyed the sun however in November. Beautiful state. Checked out Sedona and had the best Margarita ever there.

I paid more for heat in Massachusetts than I do for A/C in Tucson.
